Tucannon

Last Friday we took the kids to Tucannon which is about 2 hours from our house. We left after Garrett got home from work Friday morning, Madalyn missed school that day. I thought she would be really mad about her not gong but surprisingly she was ok with that. We have never taken the girls fishing from the bank so we thought it would be a good experience for them. Another bonus for us was my parents bought a travel trailer a few months ago and they let us take that with us. I don't think I ever what to go real camping in a tent again. It was so nice, especially with kids. It made camping great. The kids just loved staying in it. Between my brothers and sisters I think it will get used a lot. Thanks mom and dad. It's always nice when they buy things and let us use them.
The week before they had stocked the lakes up there, which was great for us. When we got up there on Friday we started fishing, we had not been there more than 2 hours and Morgan got to close to the edge and fell in. She was lucky it was not that deep. (she got wet up to her waist). That day we fished at Rainbow and Blue Lake.
On Friday we caught 10 fish. It was a learning experience the first day to find out what was working as far as bait.
Doing a little night fishing.

I just love this picture. Natalie ran down to tell the girls that she just caught a BIG fish. She looks like she is really chewing them out. Which most of the time she is.
Friday was a beautiful day, the sun was out. We all got sunburns.
These next pictures were of Saturday. The weather was terrible, it was so cold. Some friends came up for the day on Saturday. Brian Lloyd and his kids came, and Brady and Rachael Cutler and their daughter Natalie. That was fun for the kids. We fished at Pearl lake on Saturday.

That day Garrett went and bought new things to fish with and that helped out a lot. We had mastered the fishing by using a fly on the line. We caught over 100 fish that day. Just about every cast we had a fish on. We only keep the big ones and a few that the kids caught. Our limit was 25 fish for that day, it was a lot of throwing them back. Garrett spent most of time untangling line and getting fish off. I will now bait my own line but I still can't bring myself to take the fish off the line. Maybe that will come.
Trying to stay warm. Madalyn and Marissa
All the kids had a great time. We hope to go back again this summer sometime.

Count down

I have 2 months left before this baby comes. I'm so ready for her to be here, I wish it was June. I can't believe how hard this pregnancy has been on my body. I started physical therapy yesterday for my back and left leg pain that I have been having. I sure hope that it helps. I keep telling Garrett that this is the last one, cause this has really been hard on me. I guess we will see. Plus I'm going to be 30 this year. When we got married we both said we wanted to be done by 30. It just makes me sad to think we might not get a boy.
Our family has been enjoying the warmer weather, we went fishing last weekend. It was fun for the kids to be able to fish. We caught 3. We have been working on our garden and hope to finish planting on Monday. Garrett stays busy with work, school, teaching CPR classes and this time of year he seems to have lots of extra training for the fire dept. that he has to attend.
I'm getting ready for school to be out for Madalyn and Morgan. I love the summer time, and not having to worry about the busy school schedule. I don't think she is ready.

When it rains It Pours

This statement is so true!!!! Nothing is going our way this past week, it seems like everything is breaking on us. It's not the things that I would like to replace either. While we were gone on our trip we had a few problems with our van, (it was leaking transmission fluid) we got back and Garrett and my dad tried to fix it but no luck we took it into the Dealership on Tuesday and it's going to cost us More than $1,000 to fix. Then that same night my oven broke, we thought we could fix it with a $50 part but no luck the Sears repair man has to come out and we will probably have to get a new oven. (it's only 4 years old). So I have been without a Car or an oven this past week. I don't know if I should cry or just kick something. I know I stress about money to much but how can you not!!!!
There goes our shrimping vacation next month with Justin and Heather. We were really looking forward to that. When it rain it pours!!!!!

Easter weekend/ Spring Break

This past week we took a trip down to Jared's and Karadawn's in Rexburg Idaho. It was really nice to be able to visit family, we have not been to Rexburg in 4 years so it was about time. We left on Tuesday and went to Trenton's and Karena's for a few days and then headed with Trenton and Maren to Rexburg. It was great 5 out of the 7 families were able to come together this Easter weekend. It felt like a mini reunion, we missed the 2 families that could not come.

The Easter Bunny still found us Sunday morning.
We had a great time, thanks everyone for making our week great. My kids loved playing with all the cousins.

Three excited girls ready to go look for Easter eggs.
Because of the bad weather and all the snow we hide the Easter eggs in the music room at the high school.

Morgan finding lots of eggs, each kids was told to find 20 eggs. They had a great time.

As soon as Natalie found a few eggs she wanted to sit down and eat all the candy didn't care if she found all 20 eggs.
What a large group of cousins, and we were missing a few.

We played lots of card games, this was a highlight for Garrett and I. We can never get enough games in. I was sad cause at night I couldn't keep my eyes open I had to go to bed before everyone else. This baby just wipes me out.

Natalie and Jenna (it was Jenna's birthday while we were there)

We went to play basketball and volleyball at the school. A friendly game of bump.
Morgan and the younger kids played kick ball. The weather was not the best while we were there, but I guess what can you expect were in Rexburg.

Playing with Cousins, Logan, Kale, and Madalyn

At Karena' s house they have a new house dog. The girls followed it around all day long, they now want one.

The fun never ends with your cousins around. I'm so grateful for Garrett's side of the family. They are great, I'm blessed to have great brother and sister in laws. I have loved growing closer to them over the years. Family is so important to us, really that is all we get to take with us into the next life.
