Elk Hunting

This year Garrett got his first Elk. He was able to shoot one opening day up at the water shed unit up past walla walla. He was very excited that he saw this big one opening day.
The weather was cold, wet and snowy. He came home very sore from all the hiking, he said it was the hardest hunt he has ever done. He shot it Saturday afternoon about 4pm with his friend Dan. He took 4 others in the next day to pack out the meat, each one packed out 100 pounds on their backs. This elk is a 6/6 scoring 300 and weight was 1,000 pounds.

The kids could not be happier for Dad, Morgan was crying when she found out that he was not going to mount it and put it in the house.
Way to Go!!!! Our freezer is now full of elk meat.

Prepare For Fall

Fall is in the air. The weather is getting colder and we can't wait for new things to happen around our house. We have got our house all decorated for Fall and Halloween, the girls have been talking about what they want to be for Halloween, and we picked our pumpkin from the garden.

We could not be happier, now we need to find time to carve the pumpkins.

Fall Soccer

The Soccer Season 2012
Go Mesa Mustangs!!!
It was Natalie's first year playing, she did good but she looked forward to the end of the game treats the most.
Morgan and Madalyn were on the same team it was with 2nd and 3rd grades. Morgan loved the social part of the game.
I was Natalie's coach this year.
Madalyn was great, she worked hard each and every game. She was the only one that scored this year. She scored 3 goals. This was very disappointing to her and the team. Their team had a hard season with no wins.

The BEACH

Our last day before flying home we got to relax at a day of fun on the beach. We all needed a day to relax and not walk 15 miles during the day. We did a little shopping and headed to the Beach. The waves were big and fun. It was hot so you wanted to get in to cool off. This is the first time at a beach.
Garrett taught the girls how to dig and find sand crabs, it was so fun we found about 100 crabs. They were everywhere. The kids made new friends with another family of all girls and the found crabs together.

We all came home with a better tan and even a few sun burns. What a fun family vacation.
The kids enjoyed finding treasures on the beach. No shells on this beach but it was nice and clean. Lots of people there.
Until next time California......................................
