It really felt like Christmas this year, we got about 2 inches of snow that day. The kids were able to go play outside in the snow. For me this was one of the most special memorable seasons, I felt like the kids are starting to feel the true meaning of Christmas. We had a secret family that we did the 12 days of Christmas to, each day we would drop of something and run. The girls loved it. It felt so good to give.
The Sandy Hook School shooting (killing 21 kindergartners) happened on Dec. 14. This really hit home for me, Natalie is a Kindergarten. I felt so sad for those families, I was just so grateful for each of my kids, makes me more thankful for them each day.
I really needed nothing for Christmas, I have everything!!!
We did spent Christmas day with Grandma and Grandpa McGary. We loved having all the family there, and lots of cousins to play with. Grandpa had just finished the garage so that was extra fun to play games out there. We enjoyed a nice tri- tip dinner thanks to Jason for cooking it. We had Grandma Jenks and Monty over for breakfast before going to the McGary's.
Grandma and Grandpa McGary got the 3 older girls suitcases and Brooklyn got a Dora Doll. Grandma Jenks got Madie and Morgan cameras, Natalie Light Designer, Brooklyn Lala loopsy.

Madalyn and Morgan got the Magic Tree house book series 1-28. Santa must know how much they love these books. They are both top of their class in AR points.
Brooklyn was so funny Christmas morning, she had been talking for weeks about Santa and him bringing her make-up (that is all she asked for and princess) but she just sat down in front of her gifts and just looked over everything for a good 3 min. then she decided to touch them. She was just taking all of it in I guess.

A small part of heaven.......
Brooklyn has become my true buddy during the day since it's just her and I as the rest are in school. I enjoy every part of my day with her, especially our nap time together. She is my sunshine. I love the way she says daily "I don't know", " I gotta tell you something" then she whispers in my ears something (most of the time you can't understand what she tells me). I say "I love you Brooklyn" then she says "I love you Mommy". Brooklyn loves to be bundled up with her blanket and have mom rock her to sleep.

The first snow of the year
It started snowing Saturday night, we woke up Sunday morning to an inch of snow. The girls begged to get out the snow clothes and go make a snowman. It's a good thing I let them cause by the time we got home from church the snow was melted.
Silly Natalie
As you can see they used most of the snow in the yard to make the snowman. But each one was able to create one of their own. The kids are praying for a white Christmas but I don't think it's going to happen. It's a good thing we are going to the cabin after Christmas.

The Pop-In-Kins
We have truly enjoyed having the elves back in our house. This year Christopher brought his younger sister Christina Marie to add double the fun. So we have 2 elves to find every morning, most of the time they hide together but some mornings they hide in different places. One morning we found that the other toys had the elves trapped in a jar and they were being attacked.
Morgan has really taken a liking to the magic of the elves. She writes them notes, color them pictures, even wrap them gifts she has made. I find her talking to the elves all the time. One afternoon while Morgan was doing homework Christina fell from her hiding spot; Morgan lost it she was "CRYING so HARD" (that's an under statement) so bad cause she thought christina had broke her leg or arm. And then since no one can touch her (cause she will lose her magic) how were we going to get her back up in the hiding spot. It was very cute to see her so concerned. It's a good thing we grabbed a dish towel and used that to touch her and put her back in the hiding spot. She was glad to get a note the next morning from Christina saying she was fine.
I love the Magic of Christmas through a child's eyes.
