 Happy Valentine's Day from the Jenks Girls. We spent a Monday night for FHE doing our classes Valentine's cards. Once again Garrett had to work on Valentine's Day so the girls and I had our traditional Pink heart shape pancakes.

We also decorated heart sugar cookies a few days before.

 Brooklyn got more frosting in her mouth rather than on the cookie. What a fun but messy night.

 Milk jug made into Morgan's card box. This year I helped in Morgan's class room and brought cupcakes.

 Brooklyn enjoys the parties just as much as the kids do.

This is one happy little girl. She got more candy and cards than she needed.

This January the girls went to the cheer leading clinic at the high school, they practiced their dance for 2 hours Saturday morning. They then preformed at the halftime of the boys basketball game, they loved the song they danced to "She doesn't know she's beautiful". That songs plays non stop at our house. Even Brooklyn knows it.

The kids were so excited to see so many of their other friends from Basin City and Connell. Esther Poulson, and Kenzie Clyde.

 You should have seen the bathroom when we were all done getting ready. Curls, make up, sparkles, and hair bows everywhere. High School is going to be CRAZY but so much fun for these girls.

Bath Baby

 2 1/2 years old. Brookie loves her bath, and she loves it even more if she has a sister in the bath to play with. I think by the end they have more water on the floor that in the tub.

Glenna Virtue Orton Jenks

GLENNA VIRTUE ORTON JENKS (1924-2013)

Glenna Virtue Orton Jenks, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away January 1st, 2013 at the home of her daughter, Jeannine Woodward, in Elkland, Missouri. Glenna was born in Chesterfield, Idaho, February 17, 1924, to Ethel Loveland and John Barnett Orton. She was the 4th child and 3rd daughter born at that time.

Many of Glenna’s growing up years were spent in Burley, Idaho. It was there she met the young man of her dreams. She married Elden Smith Jenks June 11, 1944 in the Salt Lake Temple. After Elden completed his military service they moved to the farm in Heyburn, ID. In 1954, Elden and Glenna moved to the Columbia Basin where they worked hard growing crops, milking cows and raising eight children. Glenna drove school bus for the North Franklin School district for more than 20 years. In 1995, they served a Family History Mission in Salt Lake City, UT, which created a strong desire for her to complete her own family history. Driving by her yard revealed her love for working outside and her interest in gardening and flowers. She was a hard worker and taught her children the value of work.

Glenna is survived by her daughter-in-law Mary Jenks Nickle (Monty) Connell WA, son Duane (Ellen) Jenks, Moses Lake WA, daughter Jeannine (Robert)Woodward, Elkland MO, son Vard (Verdene) Jenks, Basin City WA, son Kevin (Rhonda) Jenks Basin City WA, daughter Julia (Kelly) Harmon, North Logan UT, son Jay (Lori) Jenks, Hyde Park UT, son Darin (Laurie) Jenks, Ogden UT, sister-in-law Gwen McCombs, Rupert ID, sister-in-law Nona Jenks, Burley ID, brother-in-law David Lenz, Melba, ID, numerous nieces and nephews, 45 grandchildren, 80 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Elden in March of 2012, son John Jenks, granddaughter Kristi Jenks, great-granddaughter Cassidy Jenks, sisters Zelma Hatch, Merla Coulam, Jolene Lenz and Ethel Orton, brothers Otis and Roscoe Orton, and parents Ethel and John Orton, and step father Haines Humphreys.

Glenna is loved, respected and admired by her children and grandchildren. She served faithfully in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was a member of the Basin City 1st Ward Mesa, WA. 

 

 I'm so grateful for the chance to be able to live close to such a great women, I will miss seeing her on the back row in Relief Society with all the other pioneer women in this area.

Winter fun at the cabin

 We headed to the cabin on December 27-30. What a fun vacation it turned out to be. We were happy to see that there was about 2 feet of snow.Todd and Janet's Family, Karl and Kathi's, and Sarah and Dexter were also up there during our short vacation. We built a large snow cave

 We saw two baby deer walking in the water, the kids loved that.

 Brooklyn was not a fan of the outdoors, she takes after her mom. Way to cold!!! She went sledding a few times but wanted to just sit and watch everyone else.

 The kids crashed many times.

 

 The new sled from Christmas was super fast.

 

 WOW!!!! Natalie your face is covered with cold snow. But that didn't stop her, she was back up the hill.

 The girls would get going so fast that it was hard to stop. Madalyn did run into a small tree and got a black eye and fat lip.

 Brooklyn did enjoy the snowmobile rides with her dad. We loved playing games until midnight. You don't get much better than family time at the cabin.

We are so blessed this year. Everyone Healthy and Happy. What a great Christmas for the Jenks Family.
