Our family now has our 1 year food storage

This is our storage room outside in our garage. For the past year I have really wanted to get all the food storage done and not have to worry about that part of BEING PREPARED. But it is really no fun buying food, there is
alot funnier ways to spend your money. We decided that this would be money well spent, plus the more kids you get the more you worry about feeding them in an emergency, you can't bum off your parents anymore. So about 2 weeks ago we really started to find out what a family of 5 needed for one year. We already had our 72 hour kits done so we just went through them and made sure everything was still good and worked. I thought I already had
alot of food storage done, but once you go through
everything and find out what you really need we had a lot to do. Trenton and Maren gave us some great web sites to check out and that really help out
alot, thanks guys. We had some buckets so we went to Costco and bought some things, order a hand wheat grinder and a few more things like powdered eggs, cheese and butter. Garrett went to the Church's Canning Store and did the rest yesterday. We as a family feel a little more prepare, and feel a little better about obeying some advice the prophets have told us to do.

Wow! Congrats on the food storage. We started accumulating items once, but haven't finished the task. My problem is learning how to cook with my food storage. I need to get a cook book or something. There are great recipes online, but in the event of a real emergency, I highly doubt my internet will be running!
wow! thats sooo good! Hopefully one day I will be that mgood, and it looks so oraganized! Never know.. it may be sooner than later that we need it.
yeah for you!! We need our supply to be better!!
It looks great! we are starting to get more food storage but we wont have a years worth till we move from here. But i feel the same way about being prepared.
Okay, I'm totally jealous......and I feel racked with guilt.:) Actually, we barely have room in our house for our normal groceries, but still, no excuse. Good for you guys! I'm officially impressed.
What a great accomplishment! I get so overwhelmed when I think about it. We have a bunch of random stuff but I am sure we don't have enough of the right stuff to make anything with what we got, if that made sense:) I can't even use space for an excuse I just need to dive into it, ahhhhh.
