I thought I would sit down and write my thoughts and feeling about the big day. It started out Friday June 25th, Garrett had got home from work that day and we had decided to take the kids into Tri-Cites for the afternoon and evening for some fun. We left our house about 12:30 pm and went to Red Robin to eat, I had been craving a Guacamole Burger all week long. We had free kids meals for the girls so we wanted to use them before the baby came. On the way in there is when the contractions and pains started but nothing harder than I had experienced already. We than went to to the bank, Costco, Bed Bath and Beyond and did a few things for the fire department. About 4:00 we took the kids to the park and to the pool, by this time the contraction are getting more continuous. I was not to worried I didn't think that I was going into labor. That night in Richland was the Hot Summer Nights Car show and parade. We always go to that, the Fire Department in Richland has a BBQ and Ice cream before the parade for all the Firefighter in Tri-Cites it's a lot of fun to see other families. So by this time it's 6:00 and I'm getting very uncomfortable but think how can I go into labor right now I have all my kids with me. So I endure until about 8:00pm by this time I tell Garrett we need to go to the hospital or go home cause I'm in a lot of pain. We get in the car and try to leave but they have closed all the roads off for the parade and we can't find a way out. By this time I'm telling Garrett just get me to the hospital, I don't care how but get me there now. He pulls onto the street and we are driving slow down the street with our mini van, we are now part of the car show. That was a little embarrassing. We were right by the hospital but it took us 20 mins to go 2 blocks. We get there and I'm a 3 1/2 (i was that on Tuesday at my last Dr. appointment) they hook me up to the machines to see how far apart my contractions are (about 5 mins. apart). Garrett called my mom to come and get the girls, she is camping 1 hour away. She leaves and is on her way. I try a few families that live close by the hospital to see if they can come and watch the kids until my mom can get there, No one is home. It was hard having them there, Natalie's running around hitting the bed and I'm laying there in so much pain. I was so glad to see my mom when she got there at 10:00. Morgan told me before she left "Mom is the baby going to come out when I'm asleep, I said Yes Morgan she is. Then she grabbed my hand and said "Mom it's going to kind of hurt but you will be ok. It was so cute. After the kids were gone they got me a bigger room and I was now a 5, I then got the epidural. The epidural worked great for the first 2 hours but by the time I was a 8, I could feel it all. I went very fast from there, within 10 minutes of them checking me and saying you are at an 8 it only took 3 pushes and she was out. Born Saturday June 26th 2:15 am. We had a very hard time naming her. We had always planned on Brooklyn, but after she was born Garrett threw another name out there and we both really liked it. It was Avery Jenks. So she went 24 hours with no name, finally we both decided we liked Brooklyn Jenks the best and it just fit her.
She looks a lot like the others did, but even more like her daddy. Her hair is a lot lighter more of a golden bonde. Her weight was 6' 14" and was 18 inches long. She is doing very well. This is by far the best baby we have had. I think I was over due to just enjoy the new born stages. She has been able to nurse without even having to try a bottle, that has been a great blessing. I have never been able to nurse alone.
The girls are loving being the big sisters. Natalie has had a little bit of a hard time, she doesn't like to share her daddy. But they all have just loved having a baby around the house. I have really been able to enjoy the last few days with her. Garrett took a week off work and my mom, sister and sister n law have had the girls a lot. What a blessing it is to have family around to help out.
