Jenks Family Reunion 2010

What a fun past few days it has been. We were able to meet up with most of Garrett's family for a reunion in Nyssa Or. at Karena's house. Karena and Brent were nice enough to house most of us. We enjoyed swimming in their pool, they keep it warm about 80 degrees. Garrett even got in and swam for a long time, that is very unlike him. He hates cold water.
Brooklyn and her daddy. She hated the floaty thing we brought for her. She wanted him to just hold her the whole time.
Natalie has become a great swimmer. She even practiced a lot without the life jacket. I fell in love with the idea of having a pool in my back yard. I hope that dream can come true someday. I added hours of entertainment. The kids wanted to swim until dark.
Morgan diving for rings.

Natalie learning to see underwater.

The kids playing games outside. The game being played was Red Rover. Our girls just loved spending more time with the cousin. They played so hard each day and we still could not get them to go to bed before midnight. They did crash when we got back from our trip. We counted and we had 19 kids and 9 adults. We were missing a few cousins and adults. We were sad that everyone could not be there. We had not see some for over 2 years.

Brooklyn looking on wishing she was older.

Monday night we did smores and homemade ice cream, one of the many highlights for the kids. We also went to the movies, the river to fish and swim, some went to the rodeo one night and many hours in the pool swimming. Everything was great but we mostly just enjoyed visiting with family, there is always lots to talk about and laugh over.

Dishwasher

I have busy hands always in the dishwasher. I will open the dishwasher door to load dishes and the moment she hears the door open she comes. The other day I found her like this throwing all the dishes out on the floor.
What a big helper, I hope she enjoys it when she is 16.

Gone fishin

Last Saturday was the first time the girls and I have been out fishing this year. With Brooklyn joining our family it's a lot harder to take the family. Garrett goes and takes friends lots of the time. It's not fun for the girls to notice that dad and the boat are gone, or when he comes home with fish and they realize that they missed out. When we fish with just our family he is on his own most of the time (one man show), he has to drive the boat, put out all the lines and fix it all cause I'm no help. Brooklyn is at a busy age and has no fears. I have to hold her most of the time. She hates her life jacket. So all my focus is on her.
We caught 4 fish, the kids just love waiting to see how big the fish are, Natalie always wants to get baby fish. This was her fish. Justin was able to go with us. That was a big help, hopefully he didn't mind to much. Him and Garrett would set the hook then give it to the girls and they would rill them in.

Madalyn was really tired, I can't believe she feel asleep for a few minutes. She was feeding Brooklyn her bottle and then I look over and she is out. Not Brooklyn though, she was just playing on her BIG Sister while she slept.
The fishing trip turned out to be a crazy expensive trip. We get to the place we are going to fish and we have a flat tire (this same tire Garrett had got fixed earlier in the week) so lucky we have a spare so we get that fixed and go fishing. Then we start home about 30 miles down the road we blow out a different tire, sparks were flying and we could barely drive it off the road. Of course we are already using the spare. So Garrett gets the tire off and sends me and the kids to the tire store about 15 minutes away while he stays on the side of the road with the boat. We were afraid things would get stolen so he stayed. Then while I'm at the tire store I drop my I phone on the ground and it brakes and so now I have to get a new phone. While I'm at the tire store they try telling me that it's going to be 1-2 hours to get a new tire, I think they could tell I was not happy and I had 4 hungry mad kids that wanted to go home. Not the best day for MOM!!! After I so kindly (Not really) explained the situation they had us out of there in 15 minutes. Anyways, I finally make it back to Garrett and we get it all fixed. A few days later Garrett takes the trailer in and we need all four new tires. What a fun way to spend your hard earned $$$$$. We just had 4 new tires put on the van also. The tire store must love us. When it rains it pours in our family.

Just Dance

Madalyn and Morgan have been doing Tap Dance since October and they had their dance recital on Saturday. They did a great job and looked very cute. The theme was "Dancing through the Year". They had three songs that they danced to: Stupid Cupid, Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini and Thank you for being a friend.

This is their second costume the group wore bikini's but the girls wore black dance suits underneath so they were modest. I was very happy for their courage to be modest and stand out in the group. We had a lot of people come up to us after and say how good they looked.

They got flowers from us after they were done dancing.
Madalyn's friend Chloe in another dancing group.
Miss Morgan
Miss Madalyn
These two are so silly, they had to do a crazy face.
Madalyn is quite the poser.

Natalie was not old enough to do dance but she did wear an old costume we had to the recital.
Great Job Girls. It was fun watching you get better throughout the year.

last days of school

We are very excited about summer break being here. The last few days of school was filled with lots of fun events for the kids. The water slide was from play day. When Morgan got to the top she convinced one of the teachers to go down the slide with her.
Brooklyn loves ice cream, the kids all had ice cream cones and Brooklyn screamed at me until I gave her one. Then she was happy. Natalie and Brooklyn are going to enjoy having the kids home to play with them this summer.

The kids enjoyed all the fun events that happened during play day at the school. Madalyn loved the big water slide, Morgan not so much. She was all wet after the first time coming down and very cold. Morgan hates cold water just like her dad.

Competing in some games.

Pull hard Morgan!!!
BFF Corrigan and Madalyn
Morgan's Kindergarten class put on a play, she was a monkey.

Madalyn is done with 1st grade, I can't believe that she is that old. Time has really gone fast.

Summer here we come!!!

At Last...............

Garrett is done with his schooling. He finished his 4 year degree in Fire Science. What a great job Honey!!!
Today was Natalie's preschool graduation and play day. She has been looking forward to the play day for a few weeks now.

Natalie loved school and being able to go learn new things. She would come home and tell me all the fun things she learned. She loved learning about animals. The last few weeks they studied ladybugs, they even had some of their own. That was great for her. It seems like she always has some little animal in a container in the back yard. She has a frog and a moth right now.

I just love this little girl. She asked me the funniest questions. Today she was watching super readers and I was busy working in the house. Trying to get things cleaned up and done. She came up to me and asked.

N-"Mom, when do I have to be a mom"?
Me- "when you get bigger and then you can have babies"?
N- "I don't want to be a mom for a long time, cause I can't watch T.V. I have to do jobs like you."

So true Life is so easy when your little.

Memorial Day

As always we went to the Jenks Family Picnic at the park and to visit John, Kristy's Graves along with Cassidy's grave in Connell. I always look forward to going each year. My girls love spending time with their cousins.
What a fun group to spend time with. What a great legacy to leave behind. I only wish our kids had the chance to know their grandpa Jenks.
Grandpa Jenks' Grand Kids
It was really cute Madalyn and Natalie stood and just looked at the grave for a long time, they were holding each others hands and then walked off. Nothing was said. I really think they know what a special grandpa he was and that they will see him again.

Selia and Brooklyn have become good friends. She is our babysitter when we go to the temple each month with Justin and Heather.
We also had the chance to go visit on Sunday my Grandma LaVon McGary's grave with a lot of the McGary's. I forgot the camera so I don't have any pictures.
