Field Trip

On Tuesday Madalyn and her preschool class went on a field trip. Their teacher wanted to teach them about fire safty and what firefighters do. What a fun few hours it turned out to be, the kids just loved it. Throughout the tour the kids eyes were so big, and smiling from ear to ear. The fire station is every kids dream place to be.

Morgan got to squirt the hose, it about knocked her down. The class got to try on clothing, see where they sleep and eat, watch a fire safty movie, go inside the fire truck, and look at some really cool things. Morgan also got to go on the field trip, she thought she was a preschooler. It was very cute. It was fun for them to go and see Garrett and show their friends around. When we got in the car to leave Madalyn said "Mom, my dad is the coolest". After that we went to the park for a few hours for the kids to play. The weather was not that good but the kids didn't care.

Mothers Day 2009

Garrett and Kids got up early Friday morning to make me breakfast in bed. It was great to sleep in an extra hour. I was not expecting this, we usually make each other breakfast in bed on mothers day and fathers day but Garrett was going to have to work on saturday so that would mean that he would get home just in time to make it to church sunday morning. Can you believe that he thought about it and planned to do it a few days before? What a great treat. The kids always love doing this, they made different shape pancakes.
Yesterday was mother's day and I really enjoyed the day with family. I'm so glad that I'm able to be a mother here on this earth, my heavenly father has blessed us with 3 wonderful kids and a great husband that I love with all my heart. Being a mom is one of the hardest jobs in the world, but I really love it. I want to express my love to my mom and to Garrett's mom, they are the best. We are very blessed to have two wonderful women that love and support our family in all we do.
For mother's day I told Garrett not to get me anything cause we just bought a boat and are going to disneyland in a few weeks so the money is needed to go elsewhere but he just could not resist. He bought me a new skillet which was very badly needed in our home. Madalyn made me the flower container at preschool. She was very excited to give it to me. Overall I had a great day, Thanks so much for making me feel special and loved.

Aunt Emily's House

The 3 girls went to Emily house a few weeks ago. She took the kids for a little while so I could get some painting done. They just love their aunts, it is really nice to have a few of them live close. We will miss Emily & Brock when they move this Winter.

The boy with the girls is Brock's cousin Collin, he lives by them. The girls just thought he was the coolest thing. Madalyn and Morgan spent the night but Natalie came home to sleep with mom. My kids are always asking if they can go sleep at someones house. They love sleepovers.

The girls getting ready for bed, Emily said they didn't fall asleep until 10:30 pm. What a Party!!

Happy Birthday Dad I love you and miss you. Love Garrett

Well I finally got a boat that the whole family can fit in. It is a 1996 North West Jet Boat.
It has a 350 motor and a 8hp Honda kicker motor.
The boat is 20 feet long and there is a lot of room to move around inside

In the next couple of weeks I am going to take it
in to get a fish cover made for it, so then the kids
can stay nice and warm in the winter time, oh ya
me too, I hate the cold weather. The girls love to play in the boat we have not had a chance to take it out on the water yet maybe next week. ---Garrett

What we have been up too........

It seems like life is just running so fast and we are trying to keep up. We have been up to so many different things these past few weeks, so I will try and get everyone caught up.
* I decided to paint almost all of the inside of our house about 3 weeks ago. What a big project. I have been wanting to paint really bad for a year now and Garrett just keeps telling me I am crazy and that he was not helping with this project. (I don't blame him we have painted so much in the past 2 years) but I needed color in my house the walls were all white I wanted something new. I knew I was not going to be happy so I just decided to go for it. I thought I will just paint at night when the kids go to bed. (I was wrong) with as much area that I had to do it took more then nights it took all my time. It took me 1 1/2 weeks of painting all day long to get it done. It looks great. I did the kitchen a olive brown, the living room, dining room and t.v. room is a cream with a touch of yellow, and then a few brick red accent walls. I am really happy with it, it was a big project and am very happy to be done. Garrett felt bad for me and decided to help out a little with the painting. I will post pictures later.
*Garrett attended Haz. Mat training all of last week. He says that it was a great class and he really learned alot from it. What I learned is that I love his Job. When he was doing this training all week we never saw him; he left at 6:30 am and got home around 7-8 pm. I would hate a everyday 9-5 job with only saturdays to do stuff (even though some days it's really hard having him gone 24hrs) . We love having him home on his days off.
*Started helping plan our 10 year class reunion. We had a meeting this last week to start to get things going. I can't believe that it is going to be 10 years this summer. I feel old.
* Garrett taught a CPR/ AED class, that is really nice having the extra $$$$$. That money will come in handy on our disneyland trip.
* Went to see Sarah run track, recomitted myself to running more offen.
* Planted our veg. Garden. I'm a little late in a few things but I think we will be ok. I can't wait to start eating from it. The girls are excited, to get strawberries soon.
* Played outside in 87 degree weather with the kids, got out the kids pool so they can start swimming. We love summer time.

New Dresses

This past weekend was so nice and relaxing. We had garrett home, and he didn't study Saturday or Sunday. It was really nice to spend some time together. We are truly grateful for our Savior.
I love everything about Easter, but I think the best thing for me is seeing the girls all dressed up in their new Easter Dresses. I know it will not be to many more years then they will not want matching clothes but for right now they love it. Little Natalie
Sweet Morgan

All grown up Madalyn

We spent Easter weekend at Mary's house. The kids were looking forward to going to grandmas house all week. They were a little worried the Easter bunny would not find them; but he did. We spent the night on Saturday and went to church with her on Sunday. It was really nice to see old friends and people we use to go to church with.
Finding their Baskets
Morgan and Natalie were sick this weekend so it was a little hard to have happy kids all the time. Sunday night we went to my mom's house for another Easter egg hunt. This one had to be inside because it was raining. The kids thought that was fun also. Happy Easter Everyone!!!!

Easter Egg Hunt

On Saturday we had our annual Jenks Easter egg hunt at Mary's house. We went over a little earlier to help clean up and get things ready before everyone showed up. We had about 40 people, which is small for a Jenks party, but still lots of fun.

I
I just love this picture of Garrett walking with Natalie, she really loved finding eggs.

This year was great, there were lots of eggs to find and each kid filled their baskets and had to find a place to put some extras. Madalyn found the Golden egg which had $10.00 in it, she is excited to go and buy something at the store.

Morgan finding lots of eggs in the trees. Natalie dumped her basket many of times. We had a great time. I can't believe how much candy the kids got. They will not run out for a long time.

What husband???

Do you ever feel like you never see your husband? That is how I feel these past few weeks. Garrett has been so busy this past month. He has been doing on line schooling to get his 4 year Fire Science degree, he already graduated but thought that this extra degree would help him out in advancing in the Fire Dept. (we are hoping to have that done in a year)he just finished a few classes. There has been lots of overtime lately so it's hard to turn down that overtime money, so he has been working a few extra shifts. He had applied to be on the Tri-Cities Hazardous Materials team and we just found out 2 weeks ago he got put on the team and goes to training all next week, but before the classes he has to read a 700 page book and do a ton of worksheets. Then to top it all off he has been studying to take the Lieutenants test that is on May 27th. He feels like he not only needs to pass the test but score really good to have a shot at getting the job. There are 15 other men taking the test. I have not ever seen Garrett study so much in my life, or been so stressed out. We are grateful for him and the extra things he does to make life a little easier on us. Our life is a little crazy right now, I can't wait to go on Vacation the end of May. It will be a much needed vacation for our family.
p.s. Garrett is also the sec./ treasurer for the Fire dept. union. That is where he is tonight, at meetings.
